I bought this for my 3 yo great-granddaughter just after I purchased art supplies for her older sister turning 5. I didn't want to make her feel left-out about not having these more advanced art tools, so this book fit the bill. It has activities which encourage reading and writing, counting and thinking as well as promoting creativity through fingerpainting. It will keep her busy and not so involved with her sister's art supplies, unless she's willing to share.
This little booklet is a tutorial for finger painting rather than the finger painting where the child rubs their hand(s) in finger paint and free lance their drawings. It's also not as messy. It is very detailed in the different ways to use the fingers to paint. The colors are bright and wipe off the fingers easily. It's a nice teaching tool
